Annis “Deirdre” (Duff) Kildow, 86, of Oakland died on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on April 30, 1932 in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Ramsay and Dorothy Annis (James) Duff. Deirdre held degrees from Oberlin College and Johns Hopkins University and had worked for the Baltimore County school system. After moving with her family to Garrett County, she became involved in the Garrett Choral Society and Our Town Theatre and was a dedicated VIVA volunteer for many years with the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Deirdre was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. She is survived by two children, Sally Staley of Oakland and Patrick Kildow of Park City, Utah; two grandchildren, David Staley and Rachel Staley; a brother, Steven Duff of Ontario, Canada; numerous cousins and nieces, and her two feline companions, Thomas and Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband on nearly 55 years, William Patrick Kildow, on July 23, 2015. A memorial service will be held in the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10 AM. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to either HART for Animals, PO Box 623, McHenry, MD 21541 or Our Town Theatre, 121 E Center St., Oakland, MD 21550.
