Angela McGinnis

Angela Lou McGinnis, 57, of Aurora, died on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on December 6, 1959 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Patricia L. (Bowman) McGinnis. Angela was a graduate of Aurora High School, class of 1978. She continued her education at West Virginia University were she pursued a degree in nursing. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Hopemont State Hospital in Terra Alta and also substituted as a school nurse at Aurora School. She drove all over the United States working as a pilot car driver and most recently, she worked as a cashier at the Deerwood store. She was a member of the Fresh Fire Church of God. Angela was a passionate softball player who played the game her entire life. She loved being outdoors, spending time camping, swimming and vacationing with her family at the beach. She was a loving momma and grandma who treasured all the time she spent with her family. Angela was a kind and caring soul who touched a lot of hearts. She will be missed by all who knew her. Angela is survived by her three children, Christina, Jeremy and Jason Watson of Aurora; grandchildren, Rylee Leach and Robert "Bubba" Taylor; two brothers, Gary McGinnis and wife Jeanne of Oakland and Tommy McGinnis and wife Sandy of Gormania; numerous nieces and nephews; her life long friend, Brenda Sharpless; a good friend, Norma Hauser and her neighbor, Mary Carol Moats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandy Watson. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Fresh Fire Church of God at 11 AM with Pastor Tommy McGinnis officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the McGinnis Family Cemetery in Crellin.
