Alvin Kyle

November 12, 1922 — March 26, 2014

Alvin Dewey Kyle, 91, of Oakland went to his eternal reward on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Frostburg Village Nursing Facility. Born on November 12, 1922, in Barton, he was the son of the late Dewy and Ethel Kyle. Alvin was a retired Assembly of God minister. He and Betty attended Zion Bible Institute in Providence, Rhode Island to prepare them for their lives in the ministry. Upon graduation, they traveled extensively in the evangelistic field. Together they served at numerous churches throughout the Tri-State area until his retirement. He is survived by one daughter, Kendra J. Kyle of Mt. Lake Park, MD, and her husband Bill Grady; a son, Mark D. Kyle, his wife Lesa with grandchildren, Sarah and Cody and his wife Nicole with two great grandchildren, Maddison and Carson of LaVale, Maryland. He leaves behind two brothers, Rev. James Kyle and wife Carol of Ohio and Roy Kyle and wife Dot of Frostburg; two sisters, Doris Metz and husband Paul of Barton and Marie Skidmore of Barton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Betty Kyle; brothers, E. Kenneth Kyle, Wayne R. Kyle, and Raymond E. Kyle; and sisters, Anna J. Grove, Lois J. McDonald and Betty Miller. Friends will be received at the Burdock - Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, March 28th from 6 to 8 PM and at the Crellin Assembly of God on Saturday, March 29th from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. A. Ray Beahm officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
