Alverta Brooks

Alverta (Lyons) Brooks, 89, of Kitzmiller died on Friday, August 31, 2012 at her home. Born on April 6, 1923 in Shallmar, she was the daughter of the late Howard Edward and Anna May (Boyce) Lyons. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit T. Brooks, in 1995; three sisters, Norma Paugh, Gertrude Acors, and Esther Moore; and six brothers, William Lyons, Sr., George Lyons, Howard Lyons, Jr., Raymond Lyons, Clarence Lyons, and Melvin Lyons. Friends will be received on Sunday, September 2nd at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller from 1 to 2 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. George A. Tichnell and Rev. Dennis Leatherman officiating. Private interment will be in Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
