Alta Mae Minnick, 79, of Mount Storm, passed away on August 9, 2023, at Peace Care at Dennett Road Manor, in Oakland. Born on January 17, 1944, in Horse Shoe Run, she was the daughter of the late Herman W. and Gertrude Pauline Shaffer.
Alta attended the Aurora School. She worked for Sheetz for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the Washington Nationals, Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles. She also enjoyed crafts and attending craft shows. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Glenn E. Minnick, Jr., of Mount Storm, Kimberly Mae LaBelle, Woodrow Allen Minnick, Sr. and wife Maria of Culpepper, VA, Tina Maria Nedrow and husband Greg of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Amber Aliff, Amanda Compton, April Santullo, Woodrow Minnick, Jr., Betty Jean Minnick, Charles Glenn Minnick, Leanne Grawey, and Dylan Nedrow; nineteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Spencer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Minnick, Sr., and eight siblings, Geraldine Arnold, Leonard Shaffer Sr., Guy Shaffer, Jane Hebb, Vera White, Patsy Michaels, Leatha Helmick, and Joe Shaffer.
Mrs. Minnick's request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11 AM, in the Texas Bethel United Methodist Church with Pastor Sabrina Tenney officiating.
