Albert C. “Charlie” Everd, 68, of Oakland, traveled on his journey home on Friday, March 30, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 19, 1949 in Baltimore, Charlie was the son of the late Tilden and Mary Everd Wilt. He graduated from Southern High School in 1968 and then was drafted in the Army where he served as a Spec 4 in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. He recently retired from Spectra Energy where he worked as a pipeline specialist for 40 years. Charlie was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge. His hobbies included driving his Corvette and traveling around the country. His most valued treasures were his grandchildren. Charlie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dianna L. (Martin) Everd; two sons, Derek C. Everd of Wilmington, NC and Chad A. Everd of Fairmont, WV; two grandchildren, Charlotte and Bodhi Everd; two brothers, Joseph T. Everd and wife Christie of Baltimore, Nicholas Everd and wife Sharon of Oakland; two sisters, Sandra Gray and husband Bob and Annabelle Martin and husband David, all of Oakland; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 208 S 4th St., Oakland, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11 AM with Fr. Paul Byrnes officiating. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2 PM at the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad, 200 Baltimore Avenue, Oakland, MD.
