Ada Marie (Jackson) Green, 76, of Oakland died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on March 26, 1938 in Kempton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow A. and Catherine (Canon) Jackson. She was a 1956 graduate of Southern High School and, for many years, served as secretary of her graduating class. Ada helped to organize class reunions and worked tirelessly to ensure that each classmate was located and invited. She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Green Fitzwater and husband Doug; two sons, Scott Green and wife Regina and Philip Green and wife Cindi, all of Oakland; eight grandchildren, Brant, Travis, Ashley, Brandon, Kaylee, Traci, Kristi and Michelle; five great grandchildren, Nadia, Monique, Lane, Roman and Alexandra; two sisters, Carol Wotring of Aurora, WV and Betty Troshak of Mt. Lake Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Ronald Derwood Green, in June of 2013 and a sister, Ruby Auvil. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, July 16th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 17th at 11 AM with Pastor Ed Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
